| I had my brakes done by a shop called Complete Care Auto in Lodi, not *terribly* far from Montclair. Like 15-20 minutes?
It's a good shop, I basically shadowed the guy doing the work, he didn't care.
Price was right as well. 2 new calipers, 2 new rotors, and all new pads for like $550.
Their full address is: 37 Terhune Ave Lodi, NJ 07644
973-479-0349
If you do call or go, ask for Steve. _________________ '97 GT. Installed: Pypes O/R X, Flowmaster 40's, Eibach's, 3.73's Yet to be installed: Bassani ML's, full 2002 PI swap. |

| Wow, that's actually alot! Sounds like $450 in parts lol
We're gonna help him out. We are charging $60/axle + cost of parts, because, honestly, it's only an hour or so worth of work. There's no reason it should cost so much...They probably charge a 2 hour flat rate and 1 hour for the bleed.
Also in Lodi offa Rt. 46 East behind what used to be Mothers.
Why'd you replace the calipers?? _________________ Fast girls love fast Fords...what can I say?!

| Caliper holders were frozen, wouldn't fully release the pad from the rotor.
So I drove around for a week with a terrible grinding noise. P&A and NAPA only sell the holder along with the caliper and will not break them up. The dealers would, but not a single one had it, and it would've taken 3 days to get the two holders. Can't have my car laid up for that long. _________________ '97 GT. That's very common for mustangs. Especially rear brakes. Parking brakes hang up occasionally as well. Theres a neat little trick to get it apart, then just clean well with emery cloth, grease well, and reinstall. More than likely if it locked in the first place, the last mechanic to do brakes on it didn't disassemble and grease them like you should. Or the car sat for a LOOOOOONNNNG time before you bought it. _________________ Fast girls love fast Fords...what can I say?!

| Mix of both. The guy who did my car said the last person who touched it did a real hack job, not cutting the rotors at all and just slapping new pads in it. Mostlikely because they just couldn't get the calipers off. But who knows.
And after I bought the car I didn't put plates on it for 6 months. _________________ '97 GT. Installed: Pypes O/R X, Flowmaster 40's, Eibach's, 3.73's Yet to be installed: Bassani ML's, full 2002 PI swap. |

| Oh definitely. I've heard plenty of horror stories of half assed jobs. Which is why I do a vast majority of work myself. (Besides being in school for this and all) _________________ '97 GT. | Hope thats not LTI....... I must say that was the biggest waste of money I ever spent...
On job training is far better. If you are going to school for Automotive technology, I would hit a bunch of dealerships up for P/T work at the same time. Someone will hire you (probably not for great money) and the training they give you is far more comprehensive. Trade schools like that unfortunately don't have the staff or time to give you the training you will get in the field. I learned more from the people around me in the dealership in one day than school taught me in a month. _________________ Fast girls love fast Fords...what can I say?!
