| I'm tired of getting ripped off by so called mechanics that don't know what they're doing. First I bought upper and lower rear control arms and had them installed. After a week they started squeeking. Lubing them helped for a week. after 2 month of this I decided to buy new lower arms from CHE and upper from Ford Racing. 2 months later, I started to hear one side squeek a little. Now I'm getting pissed. I decided to pick up a Ford Shop Manual on DVD and checked out the torque spec. 114 ft. lbs for the lowers. Applied only 30 lbs and the bolt's threads stripped. Wrong friggen bolts placed at the shop. bought the right grade bolts and torqued everything . She's beautiful now. Had Eibach Pro Spring installed and brought my baby to Firestone for an alignment. Even got the lifetime alignment package. They tell me the a shock was bent. Had them both replaced. After all that, they tell me I need CC plates and couldn't align it. Friggen bummer. I asked them if they can cut my rotors. Guess what? They tell me that my rotors are high performance crossed drilled and slotted and never need cutting. You've got to be kiddin me! They're getting glazed and I feel they don't brake like they use to. Now I got the new CC plates from StangSuspension and Firestone won't install them for me. I went to a shop that sells mods in North Bergen. The mechanic was still this old mexican dude that couldn't figure out how to install the poly bushings for my rack and pinion. He installed one side only. I've been dishing out cash like it's candy on these half ass mechanics. If I had a garage or driveway, I'd do a better job. At least I can read and follow intructions. I'm going friggen broke here.
Sorry for venting, I'm just tired of these clowns. I need someone who knows what they're doing and talking. I use my car once a week and don't want to mess my tires up. My baby is crying for a camber adjustment and I really need to cut these rotors. Is firestone for real? I can't cut them?

| First off, if you are talking about the Firestone on near bergenline avenue. I insist you avoid them, they caused several $1000s worth of damaga to my dads 2000 Ford Windstar. Just two weeks ago they fried the computer and had to pay Ford over $1000 for a new one I believe and he was stuck with a box rental for over two weeks. Few months before they killed my dads car and the car wouldnt start and it was reading the key as it wasn't programmed. Once again they paid for that, and in every case my dad had taken the minivan for simple repairs that any mechanic can do.
Personally, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone, please avoid them. Just find a good Ford dealer or some other reliable shop to take care of your mustang.
Personally, I would go to Paramus Ford and ask for John, he's a mustang savy mechanic there or talk to Difeo Ford _________________ 93 Tunes, C&L CAI, Custom 8.8 Rear with 3.73/TLok, Ford Racing X-Pipe with Dual MRT Aerotubines, Sequential Taillights, Avic-D3... | stay away from manufactur tire shops .all they do is rip you off. and firestone is number one followed by good year .
as the camber caster plates. taking a wild guess you lowered the car. if so then you do need those plates to set it up properly. remember the front end is not adjstable except for toe in toe out from the factory. this is a age old problem with the mustang. buy a set of plates then have a small local aligment shop do it.
bent shock ? i doubt that all the way as selling shocks brakes and aligments is how thier so called mechanic/parts changers get paid, by what they sell. immo they saw a dust cover rubbing on the core and used that as a b.s. sell point that you fell for.
another thing they use for shock sales is a shinny bump stop.they tell you that means the shock is not working and is bad. today shocks are all gas filled.if they do go bad if up front you get a shimmy on bumps on the rear you will feel the tail bounceing up and down over and bumpie road.
don't be afraid to pm or email for good advise from a old school wrench of 42 years. _________________ Capt. Charlie G. US Coast Guard, 100 ton master near coastal charter/party boat license. 07 V6 deluxe ponie car, windveil blue with gold stripes, GT dress up kit., |

| As for the rotors. If they are crossed drilled and slotted then they cannot be cut. Doesnt mean they will never need to be cut, you just cant cut them. _________________ Joe's Garage: 2000 Ford Mustang 3.8 Auto 1995 Jeep Wrangler 2.5 5spd

| Thanks guys. Now I know Firestone is crap (I'll just use them for the lifetime alignment), got info on people that can install my CC plates from Stangsuspension.com and I'm confused if if I can or can't cut my rotors. The reason I think I need to cut them is cause they feel spongy at times. Other times it brakes excellent. They do look a little glazed. I was thinking of first changing the brake fluid (possibly overheating). And hear goes another thing that maybe you guys can help me with. When I bought the car last year it has a remote door unlock pad (whatchmacallit that you punch in a code to open the door) on my door. I tried heating it up with a blow dryer and it won't come off.
Thanks a mil Guys for everything. BTW, What's the typical cost for CC plate installation? _________________ America's #1 Muscle Car Mods: 93 Octane tune, PnP Plenum, BBK 70mm T/B, Steeda UD pulleys, CAI, BBK Headers, MAC Catted H-Pipe, Magnaflow Cat Back, Eibach Pro Kit, Stangsuspension CC plates, FRPP Front Lower Arms, FRPP Rear Upper Arms, FRPP Bumpsteer, Steeda sway bar, CHE Rear Lower Arms, FRPP 3.73, PowerSlot Crossed Drilled and Slotted W/ Ceramic Pads, Steeda Tri-Ax. |

| You cant cut your rotors. I have crossed drilled and slotted rotors too. MIne get glazed all the time, but it goes away after i drive it. If the brakes feel spongy then you need to bleed your brakes. You might want to fully flush the system too. _________________ Joe's Garage: 2000 Ford Mustang 3.8 Auto 1995 Jeep Wrangler 2.5 5spd

| 10-4, Sweet6er, It's the first time I have a car with these type of rotors and wasn't sure. Thanks for clarifying that for me. Flushing the system is the best option. Gonna pick up 4 speed bleeders and Super Blue Racing DOT 4 brake fluid.

| No problem.
Just a little more clarification. The rotors cannot be cut because the slots will tear off the blade on the brake lathe. haha _________________ Joe's Garage: 2000 Ford Mustang 3.8 Auto 1995 Jeep Wrangler 2.5 5spd

| some of the automotive machine shops are starting to buy new machines, some of these can cut drilled and sloted rotors as they do not cut with a solid carbide tool bit.

| So far, Robies have done an excellent job with my headers and H-pipe. He went through hell with some unexpected problems and came out a champ. I'll be back next week for the CC plates. _________________ America's #1 Muscle Car Mods: 93 Octane tune, PnP Plenum, BBK 70mm T/B, Steeda UD pulleys, CAI, BBK Headers, MAC Catted H-Pipe, Magnaflow Cat Back, Eibach Pro Kit, Stangsuspension CC plates, FRPP Front Lower Arms, FRPP Rear Upper Arms, FRPP Bumpsteer, Steeda sway bar, CHE Rear Lower Arms, FRPP 3.73, PowerSlot Crossed Drilled and Slotted W/ Ceramic Pads, Steeda Tri-Ax. |
