PostSubject: Road Course at Raceway Park   Mon May 19, 2008 10:36 pm

Anyone interested in road racing on the new Raceway Park road course? I'm now the Director of Operations for the road course at Raceway Park. I'm in charge of everything that happens on the road course. We can do a group rental and I'm working on doing time trial racing and a racing league. I'm also going to have my own racing school there. Anyone interested, I'm having an "Arrive and Drive" on june 6th, 7th and 8th. It is an oportunity for anyone interested to try out the new road course. You can either use your own car and drive 3 laps or you can take 3 laps as a passenger in an instructors car all for free!!!!!!! Anyone interested can call raceway park at (732)446-6335 or my shop at (732)553-9050

thanks Chris

to start we are having a road racing school. You will learn how to apex and handle your car on the road course. Future plans are to have a teenage defensive driving course to reduce your insurance fr anyone under 25. We are going to have a drifting school and an ama motorcycle school among others. For now the track is used for open track rentals and road racing school. Chris

Ok I'm gonna try and answer all of your questions. The press release on the Raceway park website will have all the info. I think the only safety equipment that day will be a helmet with a snell 2000 rating so no motorcycle helmets. The school is open now and I am the instructor, we already have June 9th the day after our open house booked for a school. I have years of road racing experience, 18 years as an instructor and I raced NASCAR craftsman truck from 2004 to 2006. It is the track when you are first coming into raceway park it's directly on your left. It has 13 turns and is 1.35 miles. I have had my Cobra up to 140 on the 1400 foot straightaway. It is the perfect beginner track and is great for my new school. I will also have 2 mustangs available to rent in june. So if you have a car that you don't want to beat up you can beat mine up instead. The rental price is $700 for the day which sounds like a lot but if you think about the price for brakes, tires, and wear on the car it isn't a bad deal. Plus they are 300 horse cars and both have roll cages with racing harnesses and all safety equipment. I encourage you all to call the raceway park main number and ask for information. The more customers I turn up the better the school and track will become. So call and reserve your free track time (732)446-6335.

Wow that sounds good, we all need to decide on a date and get the course rented for a day, that would be our best bet to have some fun too ;-)

I hate to revive a 2 month old post but I shot a ton of pictures of the Raceway Park Road Course on opening day since I wasn't allowed to run (I don't have a 4 point bar in my vert) and I was very impressed by the track. It's just big enough where you can really get moving in some spots but not too big where you'd be constantly going fast enough that if you lose it you'll be stuffing your car into a wall.

I should have some time next week to get the pictures resized and cleaned up so I can post them, stay tuned Smile
