PostSubject: Mac -- the F150   Sun Nov 09, 2008 5:40 pm

Out of boredom today, I decided to clean this beast of a truck and detail it to and take pictures as well since i worked so hard on it.

I want to make a custom signature of it with njstangers.com on it but I'm not good with doing it.

Enjoy the pics.

P.S. I'm still boreddddddd Sad

hey thanks guys, appreciate the comments.....only went out on the limb to buy it because it was a great deal and I got lucky and gas prices dropped drastically after buying, don't get me wrong I'm still trying to find a job to afford it.

I did buy a Edge tuner to keep track of my mpgs and save gas, i average about 13.5 with the stock intake and it being lifted but when i'm cruising, the instant mpg tends to average around 15 to 18 which is good.
I bought the Banks Intake to save on gas since the stock one was modified, I should see another 2 to 4mpg gains. Too much spent now, but needed.

Still need to do fenders and tailgate with that herculiner liquid again, one more coat before winter to keep strong. Next spring I'll do the actual trunk area with it.

Also, need to get a grille guard for it since I have a bad habit of people cutting me off sometimes and I don't want to mess up the truck too bad if I can't stop right away.

For exhausts, dual magnaflows out thru the back is what I want. www.F150Store.com has them on clearance and should be alot lower after Christmas if I can afford it by then. Sad

haha yeah he does go, but now with the tuner I tend to lay off sometimes, i see my 12 mpgs go down to 3mpgs and that sucks lol but once in awhile I floor it because its fun and you only live once...........haha yeah the cab is big, even for a supercab.

yeah that is true, all depends on how you drive it; I have the same gears in the mustang 3.73s so I can enjoy the Mustang with burning rubber since it costs me less to fill up lol

Yeah, Ford is known for their towing abilities. Very Happy

haha yeah but i swapped to an 8.8 with 3.73s and run 93 tunes so my mpgs aren't what you would get with a tune or close to a regular sixer, I know some were supposedly getting 30+ mpgs with a tune lol

Should've just bought a GT lol

two things one something is not tuned right when i had my truck i was getting 25mpg with a heavy foot and bigger tires than what yours has two look into the vortex exhaust kit trust me on this one its louder at idle and acceleration than either any other kit they make for those trucks and trust me i shopped every kit that was offered for that truck nothing came even close to what i wanted until i went down to ultimate sound and security and spoke with ernie about exhaust kits and when i heard his start up that kit is louder than both the 40 and 44 series of flowmasters unless you removed the cats from the car running flowmasters then they are pretty close

Yeah I am, don't know if I can do it this year, still have alot of to do to the truck to get it ready for winter.
If we can't soon, definitely next spring.

oh wow thats good, what motor did you have? 5.4? any mods?

I believe the truck has a 3inch lift and a leveling kit, and has the gryphon/edge tuner and waiting on the custom tunes to install the banks intake for another 2 to 4 gain, but I doubt I can ever get a lifted 5.4 to run that good at mpg especially with a heavy foot.

Fill me in on all the details in here please, that would definitely be great if I can get more mpgs out of it.

As for exhaust, I dont want too loud, just want clean looking chrome dual exhausts coming out thru the back like the magnaflow set which I can eventually by for a good price.

Mustang was a graduation present because I was awarded over $150,000 in scholarships to various Colleges/Universities, and also graduated 2nd in my class. Even then i didn't expect to have a mustang I really wanted. It was red tagged from $30,000 to like $21,900 and it didnt have demo miles, just because it was a 05 left over in early 06. It was great and I do appreciate my parents buying it for me and I know how lucky I am because not everyone gets this chance, so I am not spoiled and my girl and anyone else who knows me, knows that I worked really hard for what I have.
My parents have always paid the insurance for the Mustang while I stay in college and keep a clean driving record, in the last year the insurance has drastically dropped down and I think its like $2400 or something for both the F150 and Mustang now which is great. Dad opted to pay for the insurance for it as long as I let him use it to carry stuff when he needs to and thats toatally not a problem, one of the reasons why I bought it.....tired of him trying to carry huge things in a ford windstar lol.

But yea I bought it with money I had saved up to get a daily driver, now I just need a job to keep paying for gas and stuff which thankfully keeps getting cheaper.
