hey guys i wanted to get the word out on this show early because, as i see it, its for a good cause even if it's not some big benefit to society, it means a lot to the kids and program it helps.
Its for the Vernon township high school robotics team which was started last year and as usual lacks the funding it needs to be a useful learning experience. They compete every year in a regional competition hosted by F.I.R.S.T. against about 50 other h.s. teams on average in hopes of making it into the national event in Georgia which hosted about 300 teams this year. This year the team did a great job and came out on top in the NYC regional event qualifying them for the nationals in Georgia. They were able to make it to Georgia and came back without any trophies...though depressed, just getting that far as a second year team is a huge victory and already they are starting to plan for next year. Every year the challenge they get is different and they only find out what it is 6 weeks before they need to be done building a sometimes very complicated robot as the solution to the challenge and its rare to be able to reuse parts as many veteran teams have told them. the only down side to all this fun and learning is the cost, its about 6 grand to enter each of the events (even if you qualify you still need to pay) and then on top of that they need to buy parts and get transportation.

One of the ideas they had to help raise money is this car show, its one of the only fund-raisers the school will allow because as in most schools every sports team and group has fund raisers and two groups can never do the same thing because it just wont pay off. The show will be hosted at the Vernon township high school's parking lot on July 12, which is a Saturday, the cost will be $10 and they will have food and drinks but need a rough idea on the number of people so they don't run out of food.

How big is this lot? 1000 bucks says NJTuners will rape this thing if I tell them about it. Highschool girls AND cars? It's like a black hole for these guys.

Did it last year, Hope everyone's level headed enough to realize it's still on town property and the local pd has ruling!

Just checked I am off that weekend, it all depends on what the family has planned. Too far away to tell yet. It would be a short ride for me.
