Help! Need to pass inspection! in three weeks

Subject: Help! Need to pass inspection! in three weeks Fri Aug 08, 2008 10:10 am

My brother's 2000 GT failed inspection last month for "noise violation" . they said it's too loud but all he has is a Bassani Catted X and a Mac cat back. He went to the actual DMV so I was wondering if you guys go somewhere a little more "Lenient" with their inspections like a local gas station or something? He only has 2 or 3 weeks to pass now and he really doesn't have any money to buy anything else

Yes take it to a local shop is your best bet.Don't know the area but pretty sure someone will help you out.Just be patient.Thanks Eddie

actually if you know any places in hopatcong that would work perfectly. We live in Clifton but visit my father in Oxford a few days a week and hopatcong is on the way its pretty much the midway point of the trip..

Ok I'll ask My mechanic if he does that cause he has a shop and he has a mustang as well.

Well I asked my mechanic he doen't do it but heys says the state is cracking down on that.But I'll see what I can find.

if a state inspection site fails you, you HAVE to go back there to pass. This is why you should NEVER go to a state one. Pay a damn local mechanic.

Apexcone HID's, Billet Flywheel, Centerforce Dual Friction, Dashhawk, FRPP rear end girdle, Steeda gtrac, steeda torque box brace, GI Joe 8 rib kit and tensioner, Pypes O/R X-pipe, msd 2-step, steeda oil separator. 500 whpon 93, around 520 i guess on 112octane. Tuned by Evoltion Performance. Best of 12.48 at 117.

bronco i had heard that too but the guy that actually did the inspection told my brother to go some place else. supposedly he's a mustang owner too and said he goes to flemington to get his passed but thats a good hour drive from us so he would have to take off a day from work which he really can't afford to do right now.

See if theyre open on sat. cant hurt to find out.

For a noise violation it seems to be the preference of the person on duty to inspect. Isn't bassani and MAC 50 state legal? You can go to them with the proof they are 50 state and they HAVE to pass you.

I'd almost try to go back through inspection, into the reinspection line, and attempt it again with no changes?
