Hey fellow Stangers...my Wife saw this article in the APP and thought we should go and check it out. I'm taking the Wife and kids and I am hopeful some of my Stangmates might show up, too!! I've always known about the car show at the Jackon Outlets on the last Friday of each month but apparently this one is GIGANTIC!! Here is the article directly from the Asbury Park Press:

JACKSON — Fans of the movie "American Graffiti," hot rods and drive-ins might want to swing by the cruise night showcase event on Friday night.

By 6 p.m., Jackson Premium Outlets will be filled with some of the smoothest-looking vehicles on the East Coast. Hundreds of classic cars, most in near mint-condition, will be lined up, side by side for all to see.

And it's free.

Cruise night is comparable to an oversize block party.

It is organized by the Fossils of South Jersey, a group of auto aficionados who gather, network and chat about all things automotive.

The nonprofit club was founded 25 years ago by eight friends after they attended a local car show. Over the years, the organization has evolved into one of the major car clubs in the country.

And if the weather cooperates, the July gathering could be the biggest one of the season.

"This is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, cruise nights in the country," said Vinny Rubio, a charter member of the Fossils of South Jersey. "It's the biggest one in the country that I know of. People come from all over to this cruise night."

When Rubio says all over, he means all over. At recent cruise nights, cars have come from Arizona, Virginia, Florida, Canada, Uruguay and Paraguay. And he predicts there could be as many as 2,500 cars in Jackson on Friday.
And you never know who might show up.

At past cruise nights, actress Cindy Williams made an appearance as did Paul LeMat, an actor who came to prominence in the movie "American Graffiti."

Even Harrison Ford was seen at one event.

"He was a real quiet guy," said Rubio. "He was cool but he just kept to himself."

Club members usually arrive as early as noon to retain a spot on cruise nights.

And when it comes to the cars, there are two primary requirements for them to be showcased: It must be a pre-1975 model, and it must be American-made.

"Our cruise nights are great for the entire family," said Rubio, 61, of Jackson. "If anyone wants to come, they can come. There's no charge, nobody is selling anything and the people are great. It's like hanging out when we were younger."
