| because in this state they have towing laws which states that chains can not be used to pull a car either a proper tow hitch or trailer has to be used and even though i only pulled him but a few feet with the chains it still counts as an illegal tow even though both him and I know if not for me he would have been stuck there for a while but yeah that doesn't paint the picture for abuse of power at all |

| Who cares if there is a ticket frenzy? If you are exceeding the speed limit, they obviously have the right to pull you over, ticket frenzy notwithstanding. Moral of the story: play it cool, don't do anything dumb and they won't have a reason to pull you over.
Oh yeah, and don't cruise in the left lane either, they caught me on that once. Remember, cops are people, they get bored sometimes too. |

Me too, but if you are the only person on the road and the cops are bored, thats a reason to pull you over. Just speaking from experience. |

the way i see it i get pulled over no matter what whether it be towing cop cars out of floods because their dumb enough to try and drive in it and get stuck or for walking around the corner to get a bottle of soda so i might as well speed and at least give them a good reason to pull me over |

i dunno what it is about the left lane but im always in it, to me, its the safest lane, i've driven in the other lanes and ppl cut you off or do stupid things to get over to the exits on the right.....lately I've chosen to drive in the left lane and have seen the only crazy stuff happen in the other lanes.
From two ricers bumping into each other as they try to jolt by me; a mini-van who's wheel popped off and he zoomed across two or three lanes on three tires and into the shoulder and the remaining tire with rim was bouncing around and hit by pickup which flung it in my direction and just missed my car by a few seconds; and theres alot more.
the one thing i didn't like about the left lane was that i ran over half a deer last april on route 3 lmao _________________ 93 Tunes, C&L CAI, Custom 8.8 Rear with 3.73/TLok, Ford Racing X-Pipe with Dual MRT Aerotubines, Sequential Taillights, Avic-D3... | Just to clarify for all of you guys (fellow police officer here)
It's not true. There's no 30 day speeding ticket frenzy or what not. eve when the state police are doing it or stating it in the media, its bullshit. its a public media stunt with the "threat" in mind to get you to slow down.
however, I can tell you that close to the end of the months police depts with quota's do enforce tickets like crazy. I know my dept does not have a quota. You give a ticket at your descretion. however, those who get pulled over in towns that have quota's and its towards the end of the month, you'd better have a great excuse for the officer, or as John stated "big cleavage" lol to get out of that ticket. _________________

| well sounds like the cops in those towns have alot of integrity. good thing we pay them $100,000 a year to give us tickets for bs so they can let their friends "get away with murder" And we wonder why our country is in the toilet _________________ 07 White GT. | Cops do whatever the hell they want. They creep around just to make everyone nervous, speed, go thru red lights, etc. They're the ones that are gonna kill people and cause accidents. Why are these laws put in place if even the enforcement can't abide by them??? Ridiculousness

| meanwhile, i race around all the time doin 140 on the thruway and they cant seem to ever catch me speeding. too busy giving tickets for cell phones and no front plate...and all the ricer tickets. they seem to get off on harassing anyone with a visually modified vehicle. _________________ 07 White GT. | | yea it depends on the town too. i have no front plate and the only time the cops mention that to me is if they stop me for something else. like the town i live in now they are strict. Lyndhurst cops look for every little thing to stop you for. when i used to live in jersey city and they would run my plates at a light i was guaranteed to get stopped for something. now that im a lyndhurst resident i havent been stopped in 3 years. |

| i used to get stopped for the no front plate. and apparently thats probable cause for a sobriety test and a full search of my car.
used to happen to me every night. id think theyd get tired of doing it and never finding anything. _________________ 07 White GT. FRPP whipple 11 psi intercooled.
